What the trip looks like
We want to arrive at Baja Magic by 3pm on the first day of our adventure. We will spend the night in camp then have a couple of days on the lagoon, weather permitting going out in the morning and then in the afternoon for whale watching expeditions.
Shari says, “Bring sunscreen, a hat for the sun, warm clothes, a windbreaker type jacket for whale spray and pesos for tips for the boat driver and van driver, servers etc. There is a bar at camp so please use the service there at camp. You may want to bring your own pillow & extra blanket.”
Flight Planning
Plan to enter and exit Mexico via San Felipe (MMSF). The destination airport is Guerrero Negro (MMGR). There isn’t much there: it’s an asphalt strip and a hangar or two. An alternate gravel airstrip named Vizcaino (MX0064) lies about 50nm to the southeast, nothing there but the strip. Taxis service MMGR and can take people to and from town.
